A. RSS means Really Simple Syndication RSS feeds r used to link pages in a page. for example, if u have a website and u want to show ur yahoo answers profile in ur website,, than u can simple copy and paste a small link in to ur wbsite and ur profile would b shown there,, for example u can se at the link below, open it and u will see my ayhoo 360 page shows my ayhoo questions adn answers bcaz i have used my yahoo answers RSS feed. heres the link if u wnat to see

A. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication. Its basically an XML file, readable by news and feed readers which allow users of the site to easily track changes and updates to content on the site.

Any rss feeds for random important info that is good to know?
Q. Does anybody know of any rss feeds that give you random, important information on a day-to-day basis? For example, maybe one day I'll have an article about Ghandi and what he was about, then the next day I'll have an article about D-Day. Just important things that are good to know. I'm trying to constantly educate myself on various subjects and I feel something like this would help tremendously.

How do I get an RSS feed of questions I answered on Yahoo answers?
Q. This question trips up all the search engines. People have asked this before but the most recent response I found ("it can't be done") was 3 years ago. Maybe that's changed? All I want to do is get an RSS feed of the questions I answered on here. Can it be done now? Thanks.

A. Sorry, but that seems to be impossible. There IS an RSS feed on your profile page -- but that is for your questions, not your answers. There is an AP on the Yahoo Developers page: but, again, it is for questions, not answers.

A. RSS is a standard format for syndicating content on the Internet. The content can be anything! Often information contained in an RSS feed is syndicated on other sites which expands its reach. Website visitors love RSS because they choose which feeds they wish to subscribe to, if at any point they are unhapy with the content contained in the RSS feed they simply unsubscribe and no longer receive notification of feed updates. RSS is really a win, win for both subscribers and publishers. In order to get a better understanding of how RSS works download an RSS reader or use a web aggregator and subscribe to an RSS feed (they are usually indicated by a small orange icon).

Is it possible to make a podcast RSS feed that won't download a podcast until a specific date or time?
Q. I've gotten a request to make something like this, although I'm not sure if it can be done. I'm using Podcast Generator to automatically create the RSS feed whenever an mp3 file is uploaded. For example, maybe the client wants to create the podcast RSS on Friday because he won't be around on Saturday. But, he doesn't want that podcast to be released or downloaded by listeners until Saturday.

What language can automate an rss feed script?
Q. There are some tasks I would like to accomplish in my rss feed and I would like to study a new programing language to do it but Im not sure what programing language would be ideal to do it. Here is what I would like to learn how to do. Form an auto updating feed from a directory of images on my site. Come up with a script that would update my feed script so that during certain times the feed would contain images from a different directory. So any advice on what to pursue would be great..thanks

A. Depending on where you are publishing the information you may be able to accomplish this by tagging the articles. For instance, you may be able to generate an RSS feed excluding articles that are tagged "nonsyndicated" or you might be able to do the opposite and generate an RSS feed for articles tagged "syndicated". These types of things are usually accomplished through some sort of advanced search feature if you are using a public blogging web site. Otherwise you can use a third-party service like which removes specific entries based on filters that you define. This will give you a new RSS feed to distribute. A. I do not know the difference between RSS and Atom, however, they are not security-related. They are types of news feeds. Clicking on the orange icon will allow you to subscribe to the feed from that particular page. I believe Atom is a newer type of feed with more features than RSS, but I'm not sure.

A. It sounds like you want to display an RSS feed within your HTML website. The easiest/best way to do this is to use RSS2HTML a free PHP script. This means that you can retain the complete control of the HTML layout (using templates) and make it match your existing design. Additionally using PHP rather than JavaScript will mean that search engine spiders can "spider" the contents of the RSS feeds. A. WP-O-Matic will post new articles from RSS feeds you want it to, on a schedule you tell it. I use it on several sites. You can customize the output, although knowledge of CSS will help you a lot too.
